` variety - the spice of life

Variety - the spice of life
So is chili, baby. So is chili. I remember the torment I went through when I couldn't find proper chili in Australia. Bloody bullocks. Maybe I didn't try the right stores, but heck, I asked at every restaurant/fast-food joint and everything. Until I finally come to a nice quaint store, owned by Koreans. I saw chili flakes behind the counter and I quickly inquired, shook away on my pasta and sat down happily, while the Koreans thought I was somewhat insane. But seriously, no chili = can die. Lol. I didn't know I had such a craving for it, till then. Sigh. Anyway, back to the Korean Chili Flakes. They weren't like other Australian chili sauces which were sweet, neither were they spicy. Argh. The agony. Well, that's the closest I got to chili while I was there. Lol. Random? I know. Just thought of the importance of chili in my life, cos I just had uber spicy Ramen and it just made my day, yo! :) I like like like Korean food. Well, the spicy part, at least. I even like Korean soap operas/dramas. And I think 'em Korean boys are pretty off-the-hook-ly good looking. *mmmmm... But I still try to stay away from Kimchi for as much as I can. *shivers

Lo and behold, my first Korean obsession - So Ji Sub, who acted in "Sorry, I love you", which was recently aired on 8tv, four years after it was released. hahaha. okay BYE.

Oh wait. Before I go, I extracted this from wikipedia

So Ji Sub started out his career as a model. Before taking up acting, he was also an accomplished swimmer, having won medals in the national level. In the late 90s, he first played small parts such as in "Model". In 2002, his first large role was in Glass Slippers, where he played a gangster who falls in love with the main female character. In 2005, he starred in the immensely popular drama, "I'm Sorry, I Love You", which garnered him many awards and drew attention all over Asia. Unfortunately, his career was interrupted by service in the Korean military, which he completed in 27 April 2007.

Facts

  • Name: So Ji Sub

` miracles happen

I'm really no big fan of reviewing movies, telling people what's nice or not to watch, or anything at all. But seriously you guys, watch this movie! haha. It's a really good movie on relationships and marriage. Then again, i'm really not up and hopping with all the current movies. Maybe everyone (but me) has already watched it. But come on you guys! I have no time for movies. No interest, some times. But this this this movie, is really nice. I liked the 'make a list' thingamajig. It's very real that we take a lot of things for granted, just because things, or people are constantly readily available, all at our disposal. In today's society, we're pressured by keeping up with the speed of things, we forget to keep our lives in reality check. We're very often (at least I am, don't know about everyone else) caught up with school work, this work, just hanging out, and chasing after due dates that we forget that friendships and relationships need the occasional nourishing, refreshing and nudging. Hey I haven't neglected any one of you, right? haha. Just a thought. Alright, brace yourself for some mind blowing, insensate ramblings. You might just want to stop right here. :) And if you were wondering, yes, I'm on a blogroll. Hence, the consistent (or so I think) updates.

Anyway, for those of you who have been bewildered and disturbed with the fact that I hadn't watched Transformers, I finally did! Now, now, calm down. No big hooha! Well, it was about time, and I chose the most uncanny time to watch it. The day I woke up early to study for my finals. Yes, I woke up at 9am, to watch Transformers (just like I spent an hour looking painstakingly for the M&S heels on their catalogues, just before another exam. haha.). Distractions (!) , people! What am I saying? I need to get a grip on my life. haha. Yes. Nevertheless, I admit it was a real good movie. What was I thinking when I said there was no need to watch it? So I can finally return all your DVDs :) haha.

Well, remember I said I got a new dog? Jack Russell. I said I was gonna upload a picture of the dude right? Here it is. I like the dog, cos as I said, it walks funny and it makes me happy. Seeing it gives me a good start to my day and somehow or rather, I feel so much better after I see it. Even if i've had one helluva day, seeing Prince (that's his name, btw) makes all the anxiety go away. What say you? :)

Babe! Remember this clown? haha. I just found the picture.
(which I unintentionally made sad, hence the face)

A friend asked me, "why do you paint your nails? Why do girls paint their nails?" Well girls, I don't know about you, but it is very therapeutic for me. I can be stressed, deranged, psychopathic and cranky, but let me sit down and paint my nails, and my whole world just falls right back into place. (Shows just how much more deranged I am, huh?) haha. For instance, when I'm stressed out right before my exams, I paint my nails. When i'm upset, I paint my nails. Oh and a friend once told me, the colour we choose to paint our nails reflect very much on our emotions and feelings. I couldn't have put it better. Take the picture above, for example. That was Dark purple, right before exam, and stress was the mood. Go figure. As for guys who paint their nails? Well, there are many sides to that story la yeah? haha.

Btw, for those who are looking on buying an iPod, there's this new official Apple Malaysia Online Store. It's a whole lot easier to relate, in terms of pricing, cos it's all in Ringgit (finally). They have this awesome engraving and wrapping service, plus shipping thing going on, which is sucha steal (i think la). Shipping is free if you purchase over RM250. Oh come on, you don't really expect to get anything there for very cheap prices, do you? Anyway, other than that engraving thing, I think i'd stick to purchasing Apple things from stores, just cos I prefer it that way.

Yeah I know, I know. There isn't any connection between all the paragraphs. Just random thoughts I decided to put down. That's all :)

So, I finished all the major obstacles to my holidays papers today. It's a good thing, right? :) yums. Freedom hasn't tasted this awesome, in a long time. I promise i'll try to stop procrastinating next year. One month to go and it'll be a new year. How did you spend your new year 2008? How are you gonna usher in the challenges, prosperity and love 2009 holds?

Anyway, I haven't been like all poser for some time now. So I decided to mess around with my webcam today, and took like 2134567786543 pictures. :) haha. Random? I know. But i'm in such a good mood, potentially nothing can change it. Not yet, at least. Alright. byeee :)

p/s: Sorry no Chinese words today. haha. And congrats if you got this far.

` guess who's back, yo!

Hello, world.

Guess who's back, yo! I love the Australian holidays, cos them bundle them Malaysians back home, and we see familiar faces :)

For instance, ms. Grumpy-bob-head Karina, and mr. Potbelly Niggy Nigel.
Yes I look like shit, but it's the thought that counts, right? Right? No? :( okay. Well then just bear with it k? LOL.
Nigel, the moment I walked into the lift that morning, I could smell you.
hahahaha. I knew you were there. And there you were. :)

This' what we call tough love.
After all those times. :) haha.
Well, Joshua doesn't look the happiest in this picture. =_=

And of course our all-time-favourite, shameless Shamus. Our Sydney tour guide.
haha. Luckily, he doesn't have my blog addy. Not yet, not anytime soon.
Hopefully. haha. He was a good surprise for a good Sunday morning.
He just popped up and I asked the stupidest question *tired la okay!*
"SHAMUSSSS. Where you came frommmm? *Grinssss"
"uhm.... Australia???!?"

Oh btw, that's the picture of fried ice cream at the SS2 pasar malam.
*shruggs* super dirty man, pasar malams.
But, the food, is another thingggg. You see, i'm happy when i'm fed.
(after whining for about... two hours, throughout some movie. What was it again?)
haha. I know this one damn late. And I lazy to post other PasarMalam pics. LOl.

Sucha pretty bike.
I know this' so random, but yeah. I cannot tahan Ducatis.
Did I mention that I went to the condo outside my housing area, and there was one? I just stood there for like five minutes staring at it. And, and and,,,, the owner right,,, takes good care of it,,,, it was so clean,,,, . Well, either that, or it was brand new and sitting there for show. haha.
They make me weak in the knees.

Okay. Study time. Bye yoooo!

好想好想念你哦!子怕自己愛上你。
可能的一回事嗎?

I just found out my Mac can time in Chinese, yo! So, bear with me for the next few posts k? Cos I am very much fascinated with it. :) oh and sorry if I make mistakes with my Mandarin k? Unless it's fatalistic, let it be la k? My Chinese karat d. :)

I'm in a very good mood, now that I got it all sorted out. :)

` happenstance

I tell you, exams, they get on my nerves.

Had lunch with Aisyah, Intan and Eileen to calm my nerves down.
Thank goodness for O`Briens' booster drink. *yumm.

Anyway, don't get me started with my thinking skills anymore.
I have concluded that I don't learn anything that way.

Based on my carry marks, I think hope I'm gonna pass it.
At least.
haha. Since when was I ever contented with just passing?
Since I saw the paper just now. Flaws flaws flaws. All yours :)

I was pretty damned depressed after the second paper la.
Then I came home to my new a bit crazy puppy/dog.
Jack Russell, they call it?
Anyway it's so damn cute I just wanna pinch it.

It walks funny, yelps funny, and makes me happy.
I'll upload a picture soon.
Oh and it's called Prince.
I'm contemplating if I should bathe it and dirty myself.

*thinks*
Nah... I have some party to go to later.
Doggy can stand being smelly for another day week or so?

=_='

Shit. Procrastinate.
Okay, i'm gonna go back to studying.

Do you remember? I do...

I think life is as much as we make of it. Half empty, or half full.

For you,
I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken -- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived.

Margaret Mitchell

Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.
Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have.

Bye.

Can't wait for next weekend.

` i need a holiday

I mean, seriously.
It's just exams, right? haha.
Anyone ready to make your new year's resolution?

ie.
I wanna love unconditionally.
I wanna download more songs.
I wanna stop procrastinating.
I wanna write a story.
I'll start next year.
Bye guys :)

/edit:

Click to enlarge if you can't see.
My business lecturer named the file
"Marksheet (still pending... will be done by Friday midnight)"
haha. So cute.
Or
Am I the only one laughing at it?
...
Yeah. So i'm checking my carry marks to see how far I am from passing.
*consoles myself*

Laura says i'm delusional.
Dark purple and not so dark purple. :)

coffee, please?
Someone.
Anyone.
Okay.

Break no. 087654678900987 over.
Study. Bye.

` so i posted this a week late

I've had so much going on, and i've really been meaning to blog all about it, but somehow or rather, everything has been in the 'rush' mode, so yeah. All events have come to a long end, so no point blogging. Anyway, since yesterday was a big day for us, i'm going to blog about it right away. We celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday last night, with a small get together. I can't believe that over all that excitement, I actually forgot to sit down and eat. To top the cake, people said the food was good. Well, at least I got to steal take a sip of some soup? Lol.

Anyhoo, I made a birthday cake for the small celebration, with a whole lot of help from my mom, who had to desperately help me finish the cake in time. My official new year of 2009 resolution: Don't procrastinate or leave anything to the last moment. Things to apply to: life, in general; especially school work. Hahaha. (I still don't like groupwork, btw)

Yeah, I know the cake kinda looks small. It's 10x10 inches. Two layers of fruit cake with muncho muncho brandy. Mom's real good at making fruit cakes. Everyone said it was nice. I didn't get a chance to try it, really. I had a few crumbs here and there, in between all my rush. haha. It was really heavy though. It was a real task having to lug carry it around.

What a picture to end this post with. Guess whose legs! :) Alright. So I stopped adding captions. Sue me. haha. This' kinda late. Got lotsa other pics to add. Will do so soon. Brazillian buffet and sweet shopping? haha. When I feel like it. Ciao the mao.

` idaho fires

I seriously think you'd have more time in your hands to carry out your dutiful responsibilities if only you slowed down on the internet. Do you think the level of importance of what you do surpasses that of my exams and grades? If me doing badly is acceptable, I'm glad to hop on. Call me when you're sober. Otherwise, don't bother.

sigh. stress. gao meng. haha. bye.

` the ground folds

Wira Debate Champions 2008: SMKDJ

lalala. :)

Kononnya the only school to win the title three times in the country.

haha.

God is so kind.

I'm sure they did good.

You all deserve... sleep :)

If i'm not mistaken, they swooped all the debate titles this year.

Taylors, HELP and Wira.
Edit: not Taylors, i'm sorry. It was KDU.
But who cares, the Wira is theirs. :)

Rach, looks like what you said can come true, right?

"If we get this championship, fail exams also worth it"

hahaha.
I know my picture's completely unrelated, but who cares?
Celebration baybeh!

`Edit//

Okay. That was one short post. I was in between classes when the sister messaged me. I think I suffered from multiple anxiety attacks this morning. I kept looking at my phone wondering "hmmm. Did they lose? Is that why I haven't got a message all morning? Didn't the debate start at eight? Isn't it supposed to end already? They crying or what?" =_= Three classes back too back and that's all I could think of.

I think they deserved it, and they were truly blessed. Twelve days, crazy speeches for four motions, printers and brain juices running on overdrive, while they all thrived on adrenaline. Alright. I'm just malu that over one of the weekends I slept at 5am doing my assignment, woke up the next afternoon around 12 and saw Keefe, Sophia and Zaf (and maybe the others, but I was too sleepy to notice) staring at me when I came down like some lazy old lady. I nicely asked them "oh, only the few of you? Where's the rest?", bluntly they replied "we've been here all morning, we're going back soon". Haha. Malu giler. Hold on, I think I remember them very clearly cos they always loudly say "hi Michelle" (I have a feeling they think I'm partially deaf. haha).

My account of the story:

So it's been a long journey. I just realised that this' my 100th post in this blog. I kept shifting blogs, I lost count. Anyway, it's such a coincidence that good awesome news came along with this 'celebration' of my 100th post.

You know the saying "what's yours will be yours, regardless"? I think this is the situation, the moment and the perfect illustration to that saying - those kids winning the Wira cup 2008.

Earlier this year, they got eliminated at the State level. Not eliminated literally, but they were Selangor's first runner up. It's a long story to how they got reinstated to represent Selangor. The state champions, after approximately five months, decided (two weeks before the competition) that the competition was too close to their SPM examinations. At least it seemed that way, because that was when the DJ kids were informed. Consequently, these little kids decided to 'defer' their school finals, to focus on the Wira nationals.

What other schools did in months, they did in twelve days. Now, that is one helluva challenge; for that, they deserve some respect man. They devoted their waking hours and sleeping seconds to this. Well, at least I think they did. Lol. Finally, their twelve days worth of excessive, overwork and underpaid affairs, with unrestrained, choked up phone bills left them basking in the joy of victory. Slowly but surely, they conquered in the end.

haha. I'm really happy for them. When they got into the finals, I was like "you know, they already got so far with 12 days worth of work; if they lose, at least they retain the title of National runner-ups?". I think I was secretly and desperately trying to console myself that not all people get to be winners. Plus, other teams have slogged months, over the motions! haha. Nevertheless, I was ecstatic when I heard the news. I'm not the only one. We're all really happy. All of us.

Alrighty, i'm getting 'loh soh' already. ClassesAssignments are starting to take a toll on me. haha. My own fault. I still hate dislike group assignments, yo! The sister's getting home soon. Can't wait to hear the spills. :)

*hunger pangs*

Keni: "you're always starving"

*reflects*

Maybe, just maybe, that's why i'm gaining weight at sucha rate. Life's good, i'm prosperous. That's all.

*living in denial*

haha.

` bruises

I regret my last post already. haha. What the heck was I thinking? Well, fact is, you don't blog when you're P.O.'d. It's wrong it ten thousand ways. PDA is pathetic. Public display of anger. Not public display of affection. o.0 I'm lame in so many ways, you lose count.

Alright. So much has happened in the last few days, i'm starting to forget what i've done. I've slept at 5am and woke up at around 8am for approximately half of the last eight days or so. Pathetic much. My life is getting more and more pathetic by the day (or so I thought). I'm trying to avoid group assignments as much as possible now. haha.

Mm... Josh, Ellie, the two mummies and I went shopping yesterday (after only about 20 wrong turns? yeah. I'm exaggerating alright). Yummy. So much choice, you get this mega duper headache trying to decide. From show dresses, to dance costumes, to normal cocktail dresses, to... Everything (well nearly) I could've imagined. And at that price? Sigh. How to choose? mm :) Yay. One more round next week with the two extra ppl we need. One more mummie and the little girl who fits right into everything there. *cough cough*

Anyway, as you can see, (most of you know) after much coaxing, I finally went to watch 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' yesterday and it was really cute. I was pretty impressed. I caught their second last show. So if you guys wanna watch em, click here to find out more. Bring your family along. It's ... real ... *drama wama*

Oh oh 0h. I just got this call from my mom. The sister
(who's in Kelantan now btw, for the Wira Nationals), called to inform that their team beat Kedah. haha. DJ ppl kiasu. Lets pray that they get a shot at this Wira title? :) Ladidaaa. Whatever the outcome, they've already made it this far thanks to *cough cough* :) Congrats!

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winterfar beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed, that with the sun's love
in the spring, becomes the rose.

Catch them, ya?
Nah Ming. So big the poster. CAN YOU SEE IT?

bye folks.

*Monday Blues*
